Tom Morello Launches Mary Morello Memorial Fund to Support Activist Causes

Guitarist Tom Morello announced the Mary Morello Memorial Project, a charitable fund created to honor his mother, activist Mary Morello, who died earlier this month at the age of 102. In an Instagram post on July 20 he invited friends, family and the public to donate by Oct 1, the date of her 103rd birthday, and to "do something" in her memory.

The fund will channel contributions to organizations Mary supported throughout her life, including Doctors Without Borders, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, the UFW Foundation, The Midnight Mission and other aid groups. Morello also highlighted his recent anti‑fascist performance at Denmark’s Copenhell festival, linking the memorial to his mother’s lifelong commitment to peace, equality and social justice.
