Japan hosts various regional festivals and food events

Various regional festivals, food markets, and cultural events are scheduled across Japan for late August and September 2026.

Food-centric events include the Yakiimo Fes in Tokyo and Osaka, the Okayama Yakitori Fes in Kurashiki, and the Shikoku Marche featuring regional specialties. In Ikeda, the ‘Oishii Mono Ichi’ will showcase gourmet sweets and breads.

Cultural and community celebrations include the Inochi Banzai Festival in Urahoro, the Youga Summer Festival in Setagaya, and the Minami Matsuri in Warabi. Other notable gatherings include the Tottori Night Market, the Tarumae Sun Festival in Tomakomai, and the Akatsuki Fes mini idol event in Osaka.

Seasonal activities also feature the Akeno Sunflower Festival in Ibaraki, various flea markets in Yamaguchi, and the Tsuchiura YEG Fes. Local exhibitions and music festivals are also planned in Ehime, Tottori, and Kyoto.
