Tomasz Fornal omitted from European Volleyball Championship Dream Team

Following Poland's victory at the Men's European Volleyball Championship, where the team defeated France 3-1 in the final, Tomasz Fornal was notably absent from the tournament's official 'Dream Team' selection.

Despite scoring 13 points with a 61 percent attack efficiency in the gold medal match, Fornal was not among the individual award winners. The decision drew scrutiny from international media, including Italian volleyball outlets, which described his omission as 'difficult to explain' given his pivotal role throughout the tournament and his previous status as the 2026 Nations League MVP.

Other Polish players received honors, including Wilfredo Leon, who was named tournament MVP, as well as Bartłomiej Lemański, Szymon Jakubiszak, and Jakub Popiwczak. Nikola Grbić was recognized as the tournament's best coach.
