EuroVolley 2026 tournament and Polish team performance

Overview

During the EuroVolley 2026 championships in Bulgaria, Polish volleyball player Tomasz Fornal documented the tournament atmosphere and his personal routines via a vlog. In the footage, he addressed previous discussions regarding his travel expenses and noted the team’s progress toward the semifinals.

Following Poland’s victory over France in the final to secure the gold medal, Fornal was omitted from the tournament’s official ‘Dream Team’ selection. Despite scoring 13 points with 61 percent attack efficiency in the championship match, his exclusion drew scrutiny from international media, with some outlets describing the decision as ‘difficult to explain’. While Fornal was not recognized with an individual award, teammate Wilfredo Leon was named tournament MVP.
