Tomasz Stańko jazz legacy honored with Rzeszów birthday festival and London Polish Jazz showcase

Rzeszów will host the annual Toast Urodzinowy for Tomasz Stańko from July 3‑11, 2026, featuring a series of free concerts, a photographic exhibition, a city‑wide music walk and a culminating main concert on the courtyard of the Lubomirski Castle. The program brings together artists from multiple generations of Polish jazz and includes performances by Grzegorz Tarwid, Product May Contain, Immortal Onion and a tribute concert by Kuba Banaszek.

Meanwhile, the Polish Jazz Festival returns to London from 11‑27 September, presenting the first live performance of the historic Stańko/Andrzej Trzaskowski collaboration and a tribute to Krzysztof Komeda. The festival’s lineup also highlights the new album “A Mid‑Sized Universe” by the Gdynia‑based quintet Jutra, which blends beat‑driven grooves with jazz improvisation. Both events celebrate Stańko’s enduring influence on European jazz.
