Tomaszów Mazowiecki and Choszczyn launch 2027 citizen budgets

The towns of Tomaszów Mazowiecki and Choszczyn in Poland have opened their 2027 participatory budgeting cycles. Tomaszów Mazowiecki set aside 1.7 million zł for citizen projects, allocating 1.2 million zł to infrastructure works (max 400 k per project) and 500 k zł to social initiatives (max 250 k per project). Submissions are accepted from 15 July to 14 August 2026, with a verification phase, public voting (10–24 September), and final results announced by 15 October. Projects must comply with local plans, be supported by at least 20 residents, and be implemented within one fiscal year.

Choszczyn released the assessment of all proposals received for its 2027 citizen budget. The review identified twelve positively evaluated projects – ranging from a modern playground in Zamęcin (12 k zł) to a rescue 4×4 vehicle (48 k zł) – and eleven rejected ideas, citing missing cost estimates, land‑ownership issues, or lack of required authorisations. Applicants may appeal decisions until 20 July 2026, with the final list of approved projects to be published by 11 August 2026.
