Tomaszów Mazowiecki railway station to undergo major modernization

Polish State Railways (PKP S.A.) has launched a tender to modernise the historic railway station in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Łódzkie region. The overhaul will refurbish the passenger waiting hall with new benches, a passenger‑information system, phone‑charging points, ticket machines, public toilets and a snack‑vending area. Over 900 m² of the building will be converted into rentable commercial and office space. Accessibility upgrades include an elevator, Braille signage and improved monitoring. The heating system will be replaced by a heat‑pump partially powered by photovoltaic panels, while windows, doors, roof, façade, interior finishes, bike shelters, waste bins and new greenery will also be installed. The tender is open until 21 August, with contract award expected in early Q4 2026. Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak cited growing rail travel demand, and PKP real‑estate board member Andrzej Bułczyński highlighted the project’s commercial potential for the local community.
