Tomislavgrad residents petition for energy facility moratorium
More than 1,100 residents of Tomislavgrad have signed the ‘Dosta je!’ (Enough!) petition, calling for a five-year moratorium on activities related to issuing permits and preparatory works for new energy facilities at the municipal and county levels.
The Coalition for Responsible Democracy and Dignity (KOOD) states that the moratorium should remain in place until ongoing legal disputes are resolved, valuable natural areas are defined and protected, and studies are completed to safeguard water sources and pumping stations.
By collecting these signatures, the group has reached the legal minimum of five percent of registered voters. The coalition intends to continue collecting signatures until they reach the 20 percent threshold required by the Tomislavgrad municipal statute. The initiative will be submitted to the Tomislavgrad Municipal Council for a decision following the conclusion of the signature drive on August 31.
