Tonami City conducts generative AI training for municipal staff
Polimill Inc. conducted a training session for Tonami City officials in Toyama Prefecture to promote the use of ‘QommonsAI’, a generative AI tool designed specifically for local governments. The training, held on August 26, 2026, utilized a hybrid format of in-person and online participation, targeting approximately 30 managers in the morning and 50 general staff members in the afternoon.
The curriculum focused on practical applications, including prompt engineering for tasks such as drafting greetings and utilizing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to reference internal organizational documents and data. The session aimed to transition staff from casual personal use of AI to professional integration within specific departmental workflows, such as childcare services and administrative window operations.
Following the training, individual consultation sessions were held to address specific departmental needs, including interest in image generation and advanced data utilization. Polimill Inc. provides these training programs to help municipalities move beyond mere implementation toward effective, hands-on mastery of AI tools.
