Toppan subsidiary Irplast launches new BOPP film line in Italy

Toppan Group subsidiary Irplast has inaugurated a new manufacturing line in Italy for high-performance biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films. The new line, which held an operational ceremony on September 15, utilizes simultaneous biaxial orientation technology.

Combined with existing production capabilities, the facility is expected to establish a total annual supply capacity of approximately 30,000 tonnes. The high-performance films are intended to serve as substrates for environmentally friendly packaging, including transparent GL BARRIER films. Full commercial operations are expected to commence by late 2026, supplying global brand owners and packaging converters.
