Toprak Razgatlioglu blames ever‑changing tires for struggling Yamaha in MotoGP

Turkish rider Toprak Razgatlioglu, now with Yamaha in MotoGP, says the season’s constantly changing tyre compounds are the biggest obstacle to his performance. After the German Grand Prix he complained, “We have different tyres at every race … it destroys my motivation,” adding that the lack of consistency makes it hard to find the right grip.

He has scored 12 points and sits 21st in the standings, the lowest of the four Yamaha riders. The Yamaha M1 is also lagging behind rivals such as Ducati, Aprilia, KTM and Honda. Razgatlioglu hopes the 2027 technical regulation overhaul will improve his prospects; the planned changes include removing the bike‑lowering devices and switching from Michelin to Pirelli tyres.

The rider’s comments highlight the technical challenges faced by newcomers transitioning from Superbike to the prototype‑based MotoGP class.
