Toprak Razgatlıoğlu reflects on a tough MotoGP rookie season
Former World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlıoğlu is completing his first MotoGP season in 2026 with the Pramac Yamaha team. After 11 rounds he has accumulated only 12 points, placing him 21st in the championship and highlighting the steep learning curve from superbike to the premier class. Razgatlıoğlu admits that the adaptation has been mentally demanding, especially when results are lacking, but stresses that motivation and a strong mindset are crucial.
Despite the struggles, he says his personality remains unchanged and he does not aspire to a superstar image. Team crew chief Alberto Giribuola praised his riding style, noting moments of brilliance. Looking ahead, Razgatlıoğlu will be Yamaha’s most experienced rider in 2027 as the manufacturer reshuffles its lineup, bringing in Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura to the factory team and rookie Izan Guevara to Pramac alongside him.
