Turkish motorcycle racers eye 2027 milestones and world titles

Three‑time Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, now racing in MotoGP for Prima Pramac Yamaha, said the 2026 season is a learning year and that the 2027 rule change – dropping engine capacity to 850 cc and switching tyre suppliers – will be decisive for his performance. He stressed that a fast bike is essential, describing his current Yamaha as “a bit slower than the competition” and noting that without a better machine he feels “hand‑cuffed”. Razgatlıoğlu’s goal is to finish in the top five in 2027 and ultimately become champion in both MotoGP and World Superbike.

Meanwhile, fellow Turkish rider Bahattin Sofuoğlu, competing in the World Superbike Championship, is training at the Kenan Sofuoğlu Pisti in Akyazı. He reiterated his ambition to win the world title, describing his current season as progressing well and emphasizing the need to improve on high‑speed straights where his bike is weaker. Both riders view 2027 as a pivotal year for achieving their championship aspirations.
