Turin police recover stolen jewels from Sant'Agostino auction house in nomad camp
A police operation on the morning of 23 June recovered part of the more than €1 million loot taken on 7 June from the Sant'Agostino auction house in Turin. Carabinieri from the San Carlo company, supported by API units, the 1st Regiment “Piemonte”, fire brigade and engineering troops, swept the Villaretto nomad camp on Strada del Villaretto. They seized luxury watches (Rolex, Longines, Zenith, Breitling, Eberhard, Frederique Constant), gold jewellery, precious stones and €13 300 in cash. A 44‑year‑old man of Bosnian origin was arrested and placed in custody; a 39‑year‑old woman was charged while at large. Investigators are analysing phone records, surveillance footage and the six‑digit label found with the goods to track the remaining suspects.
