Tornado and Severe Storm Warnings Hit Metro Detroit and Michigan

The National Weather Service issued multiple tornado warnings across Wayne County in Metro Detroit on June 10, with storms tracking northeast through communities such as Romulus, Taylor, Dearborn, Wyandotte, and Trenton. A second warning followed as the storm continued moving at about 20 mph, prompting authorities to warn of dangerous debris, roof damage and potential tree loss.

In nearby Saginaw County, a video circulating online showed a possible tornado touchdown in Freeland, prompting a tornado warning for Genesee County and reports of damage to 30‑40 homes, overturned campers and fallen trees. Local officials urged residents to seek shelter.

Separately, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was posted for Lenawee and Washtenaw counties, forecasting wind gusts up to 60 mph and the risk of hail, while a heat advisory covering several southeastern Michigan counties warned of heat‑index values near 100 °F. Residents were advised to stay indoors, keep hydrated and protect property from strong winds.
