Toronto orders repairs to Rogers Stadium ahead of AC/DC concert
The City of Toronto has issued a seven-part order to Live Nation requiring repairs to Rogers Stadium following severe storm damage on September 2. The storm caused significant destruction, including the collapse of part of the grandstand and damage to sections of the bleachers.
To reopen the outdoor venue for public use, Live Nation must comply with several conditions, including hiring an engineer, securing a building permit, proposing a repair plan, and meeting specific safety requirements. A proposal for these repairs is reportedly due by September 8.
The mandates create a tight timeline for the venue to be ready for AC/DC’s scheduled performance on September 16, part of the band’s Power Up tour. While Live Nation stated that the remediation process is standard following significant weather events, no official announcement has been made regarding the potential postponement or cancellation of the concert.
