Toronto Raptors rout Chicago Bulls 135-92 in season opener

The Toronto Raptors opened their NBA season with a dominant 135-92 victory over the Chicago Bulls at Scotiabank Arena. The win marked the regular-season return of Kawhi Leonard to Toronto following a summer trade from the Los Angeles Clippers.

Leonard recorded 23 points, six rebounds, and two assists in 24 minutes of play. Despite his scoring output, he struggled with efficiency, shooting 5 for 17 from the field. Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley also contributed 23 points each to the Raptors' blowout win.

The Bulls struggled offensively, shooting just 27 for 85 from the field and 4 for 36 from three-point range. The 43-point margin of victory set a franchise record for the largest loss in a season opener for Chicago.

Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic indicated that Leonard would likely face minutes restrictions early in the season to manage his conditioning. The Raptors are scheduled to face the Washington Wizards next.
