Toronto Raptors eye Eastern Conference rise after Kawhi Leonard trade

The Toronto Raptors are positioned as a potential surprise in the NBA Eastern Conference following the acquisition of Kawhi Leonard. Analysts suggest Leonard’s presence will significantly alter the team’s dynamics by attracting defensive attention, thereby creating more space for teammates like Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett.

While the roster has gained versatility, challenges remain regarding lineup construction. The team must find a way to defend opponents who possess both multiple offensive creators and a strong interior presence without sacrificing offensive production or size. Although players like Barnes and Leonard provide elite defensive flexibility, the Raptors still face a tactical puzzle in balancing their rotation to counter diverse offensive game plans.
