Torremaggiore robbery suspect detained after municipal villa assault
During the night of 27–28 May, Carabinieri from San Severo and municipal police in Torremaggiore responded to an emergency 112 call reporting a 28‑year‑old victim with a deep facial wound. The victim said he had been approached inside the municipal villa, forced to hand over €200, and struck in the face with a knife. Police identified a 24‑year‑old local suspect, who tried to attack officers with a broken bottle before fleeing on foot. He was soon located in Torremaggiore, apprehended and placed in custody at the Foggia prison. The victim received medical treatment at the San Severo hospital and filed a formal complaint. The suspect now faces charges of robbery and aggravated injury, with the investigation remaining in the preliminary inquiry phase.
