Total War: Warhammer III releases ‘Lords of the End Times’ DLC

Creative Assembly has released ‘Lords of the End Times’, the largest DLC in the 10-year history of the Total War series, for Total War: Warhammer III. Released on September 24, the expansion introduces four new Legendary Lords: Nagash, Boris Todbringer, The Glottkin, and Thanquol.

The DLC adds 23 battlefield units, eight Legendary Heroes, and 12 Regiments of Renown to the ‘Immortal Empires’ campaign. It also includes a major game update that introduces the Legendary Lord Neferata, reworks the Vampire Counts and Archaon the Everchosen factions, and implements new late-game scenarios such as ‘Chaos Invasion’ and ‘Nagash Rises’ to increase campaign unpredictability.

Design analysis of the expansion highlights the use of hidden dice rolls to maintain combat tension through a mix of skill and randomness, as well as the implementation of endgame scenarios that force players to adapt their strategies to sudden threats like undead uprisings or corrupting invasions.
