Tottenham revamps transfer plans as Manchester United eyes Lucas Bergvall

Manchester United have opened contact with Tottenham Hotspur to assess the availability of 20‑year‑old Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who Tottenham value at roughly £50‑55 million. United see him as a player capable of contributing immediately and for future development, and the inquiry is an initial step before any formal negotiations.

Tottenham's own transfer agenda was disrupted after a proposed £80 million offer for Bournemouth striker Eli Kroupi was abandoned when the 20‑year‑old suffered a broken foot requiring surgery. With that target unavailable, Spurs have shifted focus to 21‑year‑old Nicolo Tresoldi of Club Brugge, who scored 32 goals last season. Tottenham must now compete with Barcelona, Roma and Borussia Dortmund for his signature. The club has already strengthened its midfield with recent signings of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, heightening competition for playing time and influencing their recruitment strategy as the summer window draws to a close.
