Tottori and Chiba Prefectures Announce August 2026 Summer Festival Schedules
Tottori Prefecture will host a series of weekend events from 8 July to 9 August 2026. Highlights include the "Sat Night Market" (Aug 8, 16:00‑21:00) in the Motomachi‑Saikōji shopping area, the 53rd Yonezawa Gai Festival (Aug 7‑9) with parades, fireworks and food stalls across the city centre, the 81st Minato Festival, a youth‑run exhibition titled "Itana 100 Times Said" (Aug 7‑16) at Yonezawa Tenma‑ya, and a summer science showcase at Tottori Sand Dunes Conan Airport (July 26). The program features local cuisine, handmade goods, stage performances and family‑friendly activities.
In Chiba Prefecture, Roadside Station Rosemary Park will run the "Summer! Hanamaru Gathering!!" event from Aug 11‑16 2026. Each day offers a different agricultural theme—pear‑picking, grape‑catching, watermelon games, summer‑vegetable buckets, cherry‑tomato scooping and passion‑fruit challenges—paired with regional food stalls serving fried mackerel, whale‑meat dishes, strawberry soft‑serve and shaved ice. Free kids’ activities such as fan‑drawing and yo‑yo fishing are also provided. Both festivals aim to attract families and promote local produce during the summer holiday period.
