Toulouse police arrest drug dealer following airport seizure

Police in Toulouse have arrested a 38-year-old man following an investigation triggered by the discovery of GBL—a chemical used to produce GHB—in a package at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport in January.

Investigators traced the shipment to the suspect, who resided in the Jolimont district. Authorities allege the man sold GBL to individuals participating in ‘chemsex’ activities. During a search of his home, police also seized approximately 20 grams of cocaine. The suspect, who admitted to both selling and consuming the substances, has been taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court.

This arrest follows a series of significant seizures at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport this year, where customs officials have intercepted nearly 50 liters of GBL, with an estimated illicit market value exceeding 200,000 euros.
