The fourth stage of the 2026 Tour de France will move from the medieval town of Carcassonne to the hilltop finish in Foix, marking the first major crossing of the Pyrenees this edition. The 280‑kilometre route is classified as a transition stage, with early kilometres featuring only gentle climbs such as the Col de Villerouge and Col de Bedos, followed by a mid‑race sprint. After roughly 100 km the riders face the longer ascents of the Col de Coudons, a plateau, and the decisive climbs of the Col de Montségur before descending to the finish line in Foix.
