Tour de France stage 12 sprint crash injures several riders

A high‑speed crash in the final 400 metres of Stage 12 of the Tour de France saw a domino‑effect pile‑up that took down multiple riders. Colombian sprinter Fernando Gaviria was the first to fall after colliding with another rider, and his impact dragged riders such as Søren Wærenskjold, Dorian Godon, Liam Slock, Jenno Berckmoes, and others to the ground.

Gaviria sustained serious injuries, including a broken clavicle and burns on his left side, casting doubt on his ability to continue the race. Other riders reported assorted scrapes and bruises but were generally able to continue. The incident highlighted the dangers of sprint finishes in professional cycling and prompted immediate medical attention for the affected cyclists.
