Tour de l’Avenir cycling race to pass through Saint-Vallier and Calvados

The 62nd edition of the Tour de l’Avenir, a prestigious international cycling race for riders under 23, is scheduled to take place from August 20 to August 26, 2026. Often regarded as the ‘Tour de France for youth,’ the event will feature between 24 and 26 teams, totaling approximately 140 participants.

In Saint-Vallier, local preparations are underway to ensure the safety and smooth passage of the riders. Mayor Alain Philibert and local officials have mobilized 52 volunteers, who have been provided with yellow jerseys to serve as signalers and ensure course security.

The race's first stage will run from Ouistreham Riva Bella to Argentan. The route includes a passage through Barou-en-Auge in the Calvados region, expected between 14:38 and 14:53. The race will be broadcast live on Eurosport and L’Équipe.
