Tourism and education developments emerge in Dominican Republic

Hodelpa Hospitality has joined the ‘Pasantía Docente’ program, an initiative led by the Business Initiative for Technical Education (IEET) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic. The program provides business immersion and training updates for teachers in the Technical Professional Modality to align educational instruction with current labor market demands. As part of the first phase, 47 teachers visited Hodelpa properties in Santiago, Juan Dolio, Puerto Plata, and Santo Domingo to observe hotel operations and industry competencies.

In Puerto Plata, Green Garden Wellness Lounge has opened at the Puerto Plata International Airport, marking the first wellness center to operate within a Caribbean airport. Led by Dr. Raysa Perrone, the facility offers relaxation services such as massages and compression therapies to travelers. The opening, supported by Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (AERODOM), aims to integrate wellness trends into the regional tourism experience.
