Tourism Authority of Thailand targets revenue growth via festivals and Spanish sales campaign

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is implementing strategic initiatives to boost tourism through cultural and gastronomic appeal. For the 2026 Vegetarian Festival (Kin Jue), TAT predicts domestic tourism revenue will reach approximately 10.14 billion baht, with an estimated 1.32 million Thai travelers visiting ten major provinces. Key revenue drivers include Bangkok, which is expected to generate 6.71 billion baht, and Phuket, projected at 1.43 billion baht.

On the international front, TAT is expanding its reach in Europe through a nationwide sales campaign in Spain. Developed in partnership with Viajes El Corte Inglés, the ‘Grandes Viajes 2027: Descubre Tailandia’ campaign aims to convert interest from the ‘Amazing Thailand Fest 2026’ into actual bookings. The initiative focuses on attracting quality travelers by pairing Thai gastronomy and culture with bookable travel products, offering savings of up to €400 on selected packages to stimulate demand through early 2027.
