Tourism infrastructure projects advance in Ürgüp and Erzincan

In Nevşehir’s Ürgüp district, the Dereler Tunnel project has reached a critical milestone after receiving approval from the Cappadocia Area Presidency Commission. Ürgüp Mayor Ali Ertuğrul Bul announced that the project, intended to boost local tourism, will feature metal walking panels, torch-style lighting, and necessary ventilation and safety reinforcements.

The project is now moving toward the financing and tender stages. Discussions regarding implementation have involved the Obruk Cave Group, engineers from Altın Oran, and municipal officials.

Meanwhile, in Erzincan, the Ergan Mountain Ski Center is implementing grassing techniques on its slopes to extend the snow retention period. By creating a natural cushion between the soil and snow, officials aim to prolong the ski season and transition toward a 12-month sustainable tourism model. The center, which features over 30 kilometers of pistes, aims to host more than 2 million visitors this season through expanded infrastructure and high-altitude camp facilities.
