Tourism occupancy reaches up to 95% in Maresme and Costa Brava
The tourism sector in several Spanish regions reported high occupancy rates for the month of August. In the Maresme region, hotel occupancy reached between 90% and 95%, driven largely by European tourists, as well as visitors from the United States and Japan.
In the Costa Brava, camping sites saw an average occupancy of 80% in August, while the broader destination reported occupancy levels between 90% and 95% from late June through the end of August. There is an expectation of record-breaking overnight stays in campsites across Catalonia this year.
In Lleida, particularly in the Pyrenees, hotels and rural accommodations recorded occupancy between 90% and 95% during the first half of August. The solar eclipse on August 12 also provided a significant boost to tourism in areas like Segrià and Garrigues, filling available lodging during a period traditionally considered low season.
