Tourism sectors in Mexico and Colombia implement growth initiatives
Tourism sectors in Mexico and Colombia are implementing strategic initiatives to strengthen local expertise and international market presence.
In Mexico, the Secretariat of Tourism (Sectur) held a tourism caravan in Phoenix, Arizona, to engage with 31 tour operators and strengthen ties with a key emitting market. The initiative focused on air connectivity, joint promotion, and medical tourism through discussions with health systems such as Dignity Health and CommonSpirit Health.
In Dosquebradas, Colombia, the local government and SENA completed a training process for 17 certified entrepreneurs. This program, which included tour guides, travel agencies, and coffee entrepreneurs, aimed to enhance the quality of the local tourism value chain and integrate participants into the ‘Dosquebradas ventana turística’ brand.
