Tourism sectors in Tropical North Queensland and The Bahamas are reporting significant growth and record-breaking visitor activity.

In Tropical North Queensland, international visitor spending reached a record A$1.3 billion for the year ending March 2026, representing a 27.6 percent increase over the previous year. This influx has triggered over A$295 million in new infrastructure projects. Key developments include the A$60 million Skyhaven accommodation at Cairns Airport, the A$85 million Skyrail Rainforest Cableway upgrade, and the A$40 million redevelopment of Double Island by the Morris Group. The region has also adopted the TNQ 2045 Destination Management Plan to guide long-term scaling.

Similarly, The Bahamas recorded its strongest January through July stopover performance on record, with 1,314,639 arrivals. The first seven months of 2026 saw a 4.3 percent increase in stopover arrivals compared to the same period in 2025. Monthly records were set in March, April, June, and July, demonstrating sustained demand beyond traditional peak travel seasons. Growth was noted across several islands, with Nassau and Paradise Island remaining primary hubs for visitor volume.
