Tourist Dies After Boat Propeller Accident in Progreso, Mexico

A 28‑year‑old tourist from Mexicali, identified as Daniela, fell into the sea while aboard the recreational boat “El Negrillo” near the port of Progreso, Yucatán. The vessel was moving when she was struck by its propeller, causing severe injuries including the amputation of her right arm and multiple trauma. Her companions rescued her and she was taken to a hospital in Mérida, where she later died despite emergency care.
