Toyota Gazoo Racing unveils GR GT3 at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division and its Lexus sub‑brand displayed three new sport cars – the GR GT, GR GT3 and the LFA Concept – at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom on 9 July 2026. The GR GT and GR GT3 were shown for the first time in Europe without camouflage and performed a dynamic run up the Hill‑Climb course. Both models share a newly developed 4.0‑litre V8 twin‑turbo hybrid power‑train and rear‑wheel‑drive layout; the GT3 version is built to GT3 class specifications.

Toyota announced that the GR GT3 will be allocated primarily to its chief partners in the World Endurance Championship, IMSA SportsCar Championship and select teams in the Nürburgring Langstrecken‑Serie and Japan’s Super GT series. It will not be offered to teams competing in the SRO‑run GT World Challenge series. The company said this reflects a shift in its GT3 strategy, positioning the car as a near‑prototype aimed at challenging leading manufacturers such as Porsche, BMW, Ford, Mercedes‑AMG, Aston Martin, Corvette and Ferrari in upcoming seasons, including the 2027 campaign and the 24‑hour Nürburgring and 1000 km Suzuka events.
