Toyota updates RAV4 lineup with new hybrid models and software

Toyota is expanding its RAV4 lineup with several new updates and regional releases. The sixth generation features a more robust design inspired by the Land Cruiser and introduces the ‘Arene’ software platform for improved connectivity and over-the-air updates. In Brazil, Toyota has launched the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) XSE, which serves as the most powerful version of the model in the country, delivering 329 cv and an electric range of up to 61 km.

Other regional developments include the introduction of a GR SPORT PHEV model in Japan and the availability of a genuine manufacturer lift-up kit for the 50-series RAV4 via Toyota Upgrade Factory. Meanwhile, in the competitive hybrid SUV market, Nissan is preparing to launch the imported X-Trail e-Power in Taiwan this September to challenge the Toyota RAV4.

Technological shifts in the RAV4 series emphasize hybrid efficiency, with full hybrid (HEV) models offering improved fuel economy and plug-in versions providing increased battery capacity and electric-only driving capabilities.
