Toyota Land Cruiser 300 adopts new 457 hp hybrid powertrain

Toyota is introducing a significant technological and mechanical update to the Land Cruiser 300, transitioning from the traditional gasoline V6 engine to a high-performance hybrid system in the Japanese market.

The new i-Force Max hybrid powertrain, derived from the Lexus LX700h, combines a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with an electric motor and a 10-speed automatic transmission. This configuration produces a total of 457 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque, marking the highest performance figures in the model's history.

Due to the placement of the battery pack under the luggage compartment, the fuel tank capacity will decrease from 80 liters to 68 liters, and the vehicle's weight will increase by approximately 170 kilograms. Despite these changes, the vehicle maintains a water wading depth of 700 mm. In Japan, the hybrid option will be available on the ZX and GR Sport trim levels, featuring seven-seat configurations and advanced safety technology. The 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel engine will remain in the lineup.
