Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid 2026 debuts in Indonesia

Toyota has introduced the 2026 Land Cruiser Hybrid at the GIIAS 2026 event in Indonesia. Unlike many hybrid models that prioritize urban fuel efficiency, this version maintains its off-road capabilities through a four-wheel-drive system and specialized mechanical platforms.

The vehicle is powered by a 3.5L V6 turbo engine (V35A-FTS) producing 409 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. An electric motor positioned between the engine and transmission adds 48 horsepower and 250 Nm, resulting in a combined total output of 457 horsepower. The system is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a NiMH battery pack.

Two main trims are available: the GR-S and the VX-R. The GR-S features enhanced off-road equipment, including differential locks on both the front and rear axles, and is designed for superior traction distribution. Both trims include an adaptive suspension system (AVS), but the GR-S is specifically optimized for demanding terrain. Additional driver aids include Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, and Turn Assist. The vehicle maintains its rugged design with minor adjustments to the bumpers and HEV branding on the doors and tailgate.
