Toyota launches Corolla Cross XRV Hybrid in Brazil

Toyota is expanding its SUV lineup in Brazil with the introduction of the Corolla Cross XRV Hybrid, scheduled for release in the second half of October. Priced at R$ 213,990, this new version serves as an entry point for the brand's electrified technology, combining features from the XRE trim with the hybrid flex powertrain found in the XRX Hybrid.

The vehicle utilizes a 1.8L VVT-i 16V Atkinson cycle engine producing 101 hp with ethanol and 98 hp with gasoline, paired with two electric motors that provide 72 hp. This hybrid flex system is designed to reduce fuel consumption by up to 30% compared to combustion models and can lower CO2 emissions by up to 70% when using ethanol.

Safety features include seven airbags, pre-collision assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure assistance, and automatic high beams. The XRV Hybrid also includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors. The 2027 model year updates also introduce a new central console design and the Toyota Play 2.0 system with a 10.1-inch screen.
