Toyota launches GR SPORT version of Aqua compact hybrid in Japan
On July 6, 2026 Toyota announced a partial facelift for its compact hybrid Aqua in Japan and introduced a new GR SPORT trim. The GR SPORT model, priced at ¥3,238,400, adds exclusive exterior styling such as a front bumper, rear lip, black rocker mouldings and red‑branded front brake calipers, as well as 205/45R17 tires on 17‑inch dark‑clear‑cut alloy wheels. Interior upgrades include GR‑logo sport seats with AIRNUBUCK and synthetic leather, gun‑metal trim, a three‑spoke leather‑wrapped steering wheel and aluminium pedals. The vehicle’s chassis is reinforced with a floor‑bridge and rear‑bumper reinforcement, and a tuned suspension is paired with a revised EPS steering‑control map for improved response in POWER+ mode. Standard equipment across the Aqua range remains, featuring a 10.5‑inch HD display, a panoramic view monitor with under‑floor projection, and comfort packages with steering‑wheel and seat heaters. Cold‑weather equipment is standard on all E‑Four variants, and higher trims receive upgraded front‑seat fabrics and rear centre armrests.
