Toyota launches new Corolla generation and high‑performance GR Yaris in Europe

Toyota announced a completely new generation of the Corolla, adding four power‑train options: a conventional gasoline model, a hybrid, a plug‑in hybrid and a fully electric version. The next‑generation hybrid uses 1.5‑litre and 2.0‑litre engines designed for higher efficiency, while the electric Corolla is expected to offer modest charging speeds comparable to the e‑TNGA platform. Styling will be bolder, with a sedan, wagon and possibly a liftback variant, and the design cues are already visible in prototype sketches.

In parallel, Toyota introduced the 2026 GR Yaris for the Croatian market. The sport‑focused model features a redesigned, slimmer steering wheel, upgraded Bridgestone Potenza Race tyres, tuned suspension and a 1.6‑litre turbocharged three‑cylinder engine delivering about 280 hp. It is priced at €52,450 in Croatia and targets enthusiasts seeking a rally‑derived road car.
