Toyota launches RAV4 Hybrid production at Kentucky plant

Toyota began assembling the all‑new RAV4 Hybrid at its Georgetown facility in Kentucky, expanding the U.S. plant’s electrified‑vehicle output. The rollout is part of a US$2 billion investment that also includes a new paint shop designed to boost production flexibility and cut carbon emissions by roughly 30 %. Toyota announced a US$500,000 grant for a local community‑college workforce‑training program.

Separately, the RAV4’s chief engineer told an Australian outlet that a pickup built on the RAV4 platform would be “quite appealing,” but confirmed the company has no official plans to develop such a model, noting the need to protect its existing Tacoma midsize truck lineup.
