Toyota launches updated Aqua compact car and limited‑edition GR Yaris MORIZO RR in Japan

Toyota announced a refreshed version of its Aqua compact hybrid for the Japanese market, scheduled for release on 6 July 2026. The update adds a sport‑focused GR Sport variant, a longer wheelbase, upgraded battery and drivetrain features, and a new “Hammerhead Face” front design. Toyota also offers a range of MODELLISTA factory‑installed aftermarket parts, including an aero kit, wood‑grain interior panels and custom wheels, priced between ¥2.5 million and ¥3.2 million.

Separately, Toyota revealed the GR Yaris MORIZO RR, a limited‑edition four‑seat, four‑wheel‑drive sports car derived from the GR Yaris platform. Production is capped at 100 units for Japan, with a 1 August 2026 launch. The model incorporates Nürburgring‑derived suspension tuning, carbon‑fiber engine cover and rear wing, a exclusive “Gravel Khaki” paint, and an 8‑speed GR‑DAT transmission. It is priced at roughly ¥9 million.
