Toyota RAV4 to receive updated 4WD modes in Japan

Toyota is preparing to launch an updated version of the RAV4 in Japan this November. A key technical update involves the 4WD system, which will see a refinement of its off-road driving modes. The upcoming model is expected to replace the current 'Trail' mode with 'Mud & Sand' and 'Rock & Dirt' modes, similar to previous generations. These modes are designed to provide more specialized control logic for different unpaved surfaces, such as soft sand or rocky terrain.

In a separate development regarding specialized models, a limited-edition RAV4 'Off-Pake Plus'—of which only approximately 30 units were sold in Japan—has been highlighted. This special package, developed by Nagano Toyota and Toyota Industries, features unique textured finishes and specific equipment designed for an active lifestyle.
