Toyota RAV4 tops September 2026 new car sales rankings

The Toyota RAV4 has emerged as the most popular new vehicle purchased through CarExpert in September 2026, rising from eighth place two months prior to secure the top position. The vehicle also led in customer enquiries.

Other notable performers in the September rankings included the Geely Starray EM-i, which moved to second place, and the Hyundai Kona, which reached third. The Zeekr 7X followed in fourth place. The data reflects a shifting preference toward electrified models and SUVs in the Australian market.

The 2026 RAV4 model features a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The entry-level 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor delivers 272hp and offers an electric-only driving range of up to 75 miles.
