Toyota recalls 106,000 hybrid Land Cruisers over fuel leak risk

Toyota has issued a global recall for approximately 106,000 hybrid Land Cruiser SUVs, covering model years 2024 through 2027, due to a defect in the fuel delivery system. The issue involves a plastic fuel tube on the gas tank that connects to a metal fuel tube; if the retaining clip holding these components together lifts, the lines can disconnect.

This disconnection can lead to fuel leaks, which increase the risk of vehicle fires and may cause the engine to shut off unexpectedly. The recall affects premium hybrid models sold in several major markets, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the European Union, Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.

Toyota dealers have been instructed to inspect the fuel lines and either install a supplemental clamp to prevent disconnection or replace the plastic tube and install a clamp where necessary. Affected owners will be notified by mail by December 13, 2026.
