Toyota recalls over 105,000 Land Cruiser Hybrids in US due to fire risk
Toyota is recalling 105,794 Land Cruiser Hybrid SUVs in the United States due to a defect in the fuel-tube connection that could lead to fuel leaks and increase the risk of fire. The issue involves a retaining clip that joins a resin fuel tube to a metal one; if the clip lifts or becomes detached, fuel may escape before the hybrid engine shuts down.
The recall affects model years 2024 through 2027. According to NHTSA filings, the affected vehicles were produced between November 29, 2023, and October 1, 2026. Toyota has already logged 23 field technical reports and 64 warranty claims potentially related to this issue.
To remedy the defect, authorized dealers will inspect the fuel-tube connections and install a supplemental clamp at no cost to the owner. If necessary, technicians will replace the resin fuel tube entirely. Toyota expects to notify affected owners via mail between November 29 and December 13, 2026.
