Toyota rolls out new electric RAV4 and Hilux models

Toyota introduced the 2026 generation of the RAV4 hybrid‑electric vehicle, offering a fully electrified powertrain across all trims, up to 236 hp (324 hp in plug‑in mode), a 25.3 km/l combined fuel‑efficiency rating, Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, 8 airbags, a 360° camera, JBL premium audio and a suite of connected services that let owners pre‑condition the cabin and locate the vehicle from a smartphone.

In Chile, Toyota launched the first fully electric Hilux, marking the brand’s entry into the electric pickup segment after nearly 70 years of Hilux production. The Hilux EV delivers a 260 km electric range, is priced at roughly CLP 68.99 million (including VAT) and has sold 54 units by May 2025, representing about 0.2 % of Chile’s pickup market. Its arrival adds to a niche lineup of six electric pickups available locally, highlighting growing interest in zero‑emission trucks as charging infrastructure improves.
