Toyota SUV interest grows with Land Cruiser FJ and Tj Cruiser

Toyota is seeing increased interest in its SUV lineup, specifically regarding the Land Cruiser FJ and the Tj Cruiser concept. The Land Cruiser FJ, which launched in Japan in May 2026, has seen rapid demand, leading to uncertain delivery timelines. Despite using the IMV platform rather than the GA-F platform found in the 300 or 250 series, experts note that the FJ maintains the brand's reputation for durability and off-road capability, offering high maneuverability on narrow roads due to its compact dimensions.

Additionally, the Tj Cruiser concept remains a point of interest in the industry. Originally unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, the concept features a unique blend of van and SUV characteristics, including sliding doors and a highly versatile interior capable of a completely flat floor. While the Tj Cruiser has not yet entered mass production, its design philosophy of combining outdoor performance with daily utility aligns with current market trends.
