Toyota unveils Corolla coupe with electric and hybrid models
Toyota Motor Corporation introduced the 13th‑generation Corolla featuring a new coupe‑style body. The design departs from the traditional sedan silhouette, adopting narrower, angular side windows, an extended rear deck, and a front optical package with sharp headlights and pixel‑LED taillights inspired by the concept shown at the 2025 Tokyo Motor Show. Inside, the cabin follows a minimalist approach with fewer physical buttons and a compact multimedia display.
The powertrain lineup adds a fully electric version alongside existing hybrid, plug‑in hybrid and conventional internal‑combustion options. A sport‑tuned model will be developed by the brand’s Gazoo Racing division. While official pricing and launch dates have not been disclosed, the model was pre‑announced in a documentary produced in Japan and is expected to reach global markets in the coming months, with later introductions in Brazil and Paraguay at a price point above the current Corolla range (approximately R$177,590‑R$210,090).
