Toyota unveils GR Corolla MORIZO RR and prepares GR GT debut in Taiwan

Toyota's motorsport division, GAZOO Racing, has unveiled the GR Corolla MORIZO RR concept. Designed under the philosophy of Akio Toyoda (known as the driver 'Morizo'), this model aims to balance track-level performance with daily usability. Unlike the two-seat, manual-only GRMN Corolla, the MORIZO RR features a five-seat configuration and an 8-speed automatic transmission (GR-DAT), making it accessible to drivers with automatic-only licenses. The vehicle includes high-end aerodynamic components such as a carbon fiber hood, fenders, and side skirts.

In a related development, Toyota is bringing high-performance models to Taiwan for the 'GR Carnival' on October 3 in Tainan. The event will feature the debut of the GR GT and the GR GT3 racing version in the region. The GR GT, which is expected to feature a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo hybrid engine producing over 640 horsepower, is being positioned as a flagship supercar. While the GR GT's appearance in Taiwan suggests potential future sales, official local availability and pricing have not yet been confirmed.
